Thoughts on Living for Today
We’re in transition. We can’t wait to share with you where we’ve been and where we’re headed...!
Life on the road is good. So much freedom found to feel and experience many things. We’re thankful for this time.
We’ve been on the road for 26 days now. Of the past 13 nights we’ve slept in the trailer 10. We’ve fallen in love with this little teardrop trailer. It only took us 3 nights to figure out out the best sleeping arrangement. ;) During the day we play hard and at night we rest hard.
We’ve visited 6 national parks, driven over 5,000 miles & we're still calculating the countless hours spent in the car. And we STILL like each other- very much so! ;)
Here’s a little something I wrote on day 16: This trip is exceeding my expectations. We’ve cried laughed, loved, adventured, seen, learned, reflected, cried and then laughed some more. Isn’t that what life is all about? We’re living in the moment and we can’t get enough of it.
No agenda. No place to be. Nothing on the horizon but the sun. We live for today and love for today.
Because today is all we have.
I’m learning to make each one count. Oliver had 47 “todays”. Most would say that’s not enough. I would definitely say it wasn’t enough...I could live the rest of my days bitter about losing Oliver- OR I can CHOOSE JOY. Everyday. It’s a battle. Don't get me wrong. Joy does not come easily these days. A constant choice to be brave. To wake up, look grief in the eye and choose joy.
Just think of what our brave Oliver did in 47 days!! A tiny baby with no voice brought people together around the world in prayer. Oliver’s story shouts Christ’s love and faithfulness from the rooftops. And we will too.
Today is for you, precious baby Oliver.
