Thoughts on Living for Today

This trip is exceeding my expectations. We’ve cried laughed, loved, adventured, seen, learned, reflected, cried and then laughed some more. Isn’t that what life is all about? We’re living in the moment and we can’t get enough of it.

Once we reached the summit- we were surrounded by 360 degrees of breathtaking views. Whoa. I sat on a rock looking out and all I could think to do was pray. Stepping foot on that mountaintop instantly de cluttered my mind. I started to pray, “Lord, God, please- please...please...have your way.”

This trip has already been so good for my soul. It’s been the simplest moments that have blown me away the most. The open road. The clear blue sky. A perfectly placed flower here. The sun shining just right on that valley over there. My eyes are begging my heart to believe in beautiful things again.

47 Days With Oliver        August 1st -Day 3   After 2 days, 4 states and 790 miles we’ve made it to our first destination: Colorful Colorado.

Oliver’s broken heart has been made perfect! Praise Jesus. But now we’re the broken-hearted ones. We’re sitting here in the aftermath of this terrible storm— waiting. Waiting for the sun to come out. Waiting for healing. Waiting for God to work. As we wait, we move. We journey. We are seeking to find what is STILL true, right and beautiful in this world. Because we know it’s out there.
